Kate Middleton once again showed her prowess as a member of the royal household and she did it in a stunning manner with great symbolism behind it.
At the Diplomatic Reception in Buckingham Palace which hosts 1,000 guests, from ambassadors to government officials, the Duchess of Cambridge made her very unique fashion statement at the occasion which is always with a dress code of white tie, as she wore a navy Alexander McQueen gown and was in full royal mode.
The Lover’s Knot tiara made by Garrard in 1913 and contains diamond arches adorned with drop pearls associated with Princess Diana, which the Duchess had last worn at the state banquet for President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in June 2019 adorned her head while she had dangling diamond earrings and a matching necklace to complement the look.
Along with this, the Duchess had an adorned sash which had a lot of symbolism to it. A gift gained from the Queen herself on April 29, which was her eighth wedding anniversary, when she was appointed by the Queen to the Royal Victorian Order. This award was a great honour bestowed upon the Duchess as it is known that “Awards in the Royal Victorian Order are made personally by the Queen for services to the Sovereign,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
She also had on for the second time, a white enamel Maltese cross with a Tudor crown which is the Royal Victorian Order’s badge and also the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II, a yellow badge given to the female members of the British monarchy pinned to her chest.
The great significance of the ensemble of the Royal Duchess in full was a reference to the Queen herself as the sash symbolizes the Queen’s high regard for her granddaughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.
