Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage And Others Nominated For 2020 Grammy Awards

Africa, the home of uniqueness and beauty in all areas has had many of its people making waves in all aspects most especially in music and a particular nationality group has been breaking records on all music fronts and are now having world-renowned award nominations, with a special emphasis on the upcoming Grammys 2020. 

From Burna Boy to Mr Eazi, the list is endless, how about we take a look at these talent icons and their nomination categories. 

Mr. Eazi a renowned Nigerian artiste, performer and songwriter is amongst those elected and selected as a nominee for the upcoming award as he has been nominated for his work in The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce, Oasis by J Balvin and Bad Bunny and he’s been nominated under the categories of Best Pop Vocal Album as performer/songwriter on ‘Don’t Jealous Me,’ ‘Keys To The Kingdom,’ and Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album featured on ‘Como Un Bebe.’

Talk about great figures behind the Nigerian music industry, we have Legendury Beatz a producer and composer who has been nominated for his work in  Oasis by J Balvin and Bad Bunny and also in the category of Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album as Producer of Como Un Bebe.

A prominent figure behind the originality of Nigerian music is Abisagboola Oluseun also known as Bankulli, a songwriter and composer who has gained nominations for his part in The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce and also nominated under the category of Best Pop Vocal Album as Songwriter on ‘Find Your Way Back (Circle of Life).’

Everyone knows what’s up once it’s Sarz on the beats. A renowned and talented composer and producer, he has been nominated for writing of The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce under the category of Best Pop Vocal Album as songwriter on ‘Find Your Way Back (Circle of Life).’ 

Who doesn’t know the African giant himself, the reincarnation of the voice of the people (Fela Anikulapo Kuti) the one and only Burna Boy, artiste and performer with a wide range of hits and success. He has been nominated for his performance in  African Giant (2020), and also in The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce under the category of Best World Music Award, and Best Pop Vocal Album as he performed/wrote ‘Ja Ara E.’

As one of the geniuses behind the uniqueness of Nigerian music, Tekno a composer and producer has been nominated for The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce in the category of  Best Pop Vocal Album as songwriter/performer on ‘Don’t Jealous Me.’

The great women of the industry are also not left out as multi-talented and multilingual Yemi Alade, composer, songwriter and performer has been nominated for collaboration in The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce under the category of Best Pop Vocal Album as songwriter/performer on ‘Don’t Jealous Me,’ and ‘My Power.’

Another great pillar behind the scenes of the industry is P2J a composer and producer who has been nominated for his work in The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce in the category of Best Pop Vocal Album as he produced ‘Ja Ara E,’ ‘Water’ and ‘Keys To The King’ ‘Scar.’

The great king of African vibes is most definitely not left out of this list as the popular and super talented Wizkid, songwriter and performer has been nominated for the all time popular collaboration in  The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce in the category of Best Pop Vocal Album as he performed the all time world known ‘Brown Skin Girl.’ 

The queen of Nigerian music is also here to show the girl power. Tiwa Savage, popular songwriter and performer has been nominated for her work in the album The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce in the category of Best Pop Vocal Album as the producer of  ‘Keys To The Kingdom.’

Popular composer and producer Northboi has been nominated for his production skills in the album The Lion King: The Gift by Beyonce in the category of Best Pop Vocal Albums for production of ‘Keys To The Kingdom.’

Now that these African talents have been nominated the anxiety mounts as the awards night approaches for 2020 and the outcome of the voting shall be announced. Best of luck to the Nigerian talents.
