Religion and rap; a very unique combination that has taken the number one spot not only on the billboards but also in churches and it’s all thanks to our dearest brother Kanye West and his “Jesus is King” album.
On Sunday, Kanye opened up about his new revolutionary sounds and most especially his faith, something that has been of great interest to many Kanye followers and fans at pastor Joel Osteen‘s Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.
He made comments and statements explaining his spiritual journey so far and made comments concerning his conflicting moments and how God helped him out, he said, “When I was in my lowest points, God was there with me and sending me visions and inspiring me, and I remember sitting in the hospital at UCLA after having a mental breakdown and there’s documentation of me drawing a church and [wanting to] start a church in the middle of Calabasas.”
Kanye’s new album has shown how far his faith has redirected him from his old paths and how now he is a changed man and how he perceives himself as the greatest artist that God has created as he said, “Jesus has won the victory. I told you about my arrogance and cockiness already. Now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for him.”
Kanye was accompanied by his wife Kim and his daughter North who were recognised during the service. Kim prior to the service posted pictures and made videos on Instagram for her followers.
Kanye’s new spiritual journey has enabled him not only to change his style but also to show a new side of himself to the world as he has been seen with his family visiting and giving to the poor, alongside prison visitations as Kanye recently performed at the Harris County jail prison and also his visit to Rodney Reed whose execution has been suspended indefinitely.
Kanye believes in the power of music to heal the world and he believes even more that God is using him through his music to heal and mend the world.
