In the 21st century where technology is the order of the day, all things related to our lifestyles have been upgraded to a technologically accessible and usable level from shopping, health, sports and now in a most surprising turn of events even to Luxury fashion brands and fashion as a whole.
Recently there has been a high rise in gaming activities all over the world with such games as ‘Pokemon Go’ captivating all ages, gender and social levels, and with this, a new idea and trend have hit; not just for gaming in general but for gaming with regards to fashion.
We all have seen games where we get to dress up avatars with specific looks and for specific occasions and sometimes get to wish that we could get dressed like that.
Well to that effect, the luxury fashion world has taken it to a whole new level of VR games in the fashion mode.
Two such gaming apps made specifically for this are “Drest” and “Ada”. Drest is from Lucy Yeomans, a former magazine editor and Net-a-Porter alumnus, while Ada is named after Ada Lovelace, and is a product of co-founders and fashion insiders Alexia Niedzielski and Elizabeth von Guttman, along with Andy Ku, who is a Korean gaming guru.
Both games entail dressing up of avatar figures with not just any kind of clothing but luxury branded fashion clothing from brands such as Gucci, Prada, Dior and so on. The bonus of these games is that asides the many perks and added fun, players could stand a chance of purchasing and winning in real life their dresses up styles if well-liked by the community of fellow gamers and fashion enthusiasts.
Asides the VR arena, several luxury fashion brands have been seen partnering with games of all kinds to bring fashion even to the screen world of games in terms of vestments, accessories and many more. Brands such as Louis Vuitton, Moschino, Gucci and Burberry are the forerunners in the gaming and fashion partnership bringing with them a wide variety of added fun in a fashionable way.
Now gaming has gotten all the more interesting wouldn’t you agree? And there is just so much more to look forward to in the fashion-gaming mashup.
