Disney Plus finally had its debut on the 12th of November and it was received it mixed reactions.
The first 24-hours of the launching of Disney Plus recorded a hit of 3.2 million downloads from the android and IOS app stores, with the United States coming first with the highest number of downloads, followed by Canada and the Netherlands coming in 3rd place.
The high records of downloads sure was a thrill to Disney as it outranked that of Netflix all over the world during its launching but there was a whole lot more to the day than the millions of downloads.
With the great success also came great issues for Disney Plus as it recorded large level of technical issues from users inability to login into the app, a result of overload on the Disney Plus system to authenticate due to the large number of users.
Despite the technical issues, Disney Plus has since its release occupied the number 1 spot on Apple’s App Store in USA and Canada and Verizon’s one year free offer of Disney Plus to all of its unlimited wireless subscribers nationwide has sure increased the popularity of the new Disney platform and let’s not forget Disney Plus offering a seven-day free trial to all subscribers.
Let’s hope that the high number of subscribers will remain so even after the free trials are over.
